The Faculty of Engineering at Samudra University was founded in 1991. Initially, the Faculty of Engineering only consisted of three study programs namely Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Industrial Engineering. After the change in university status from private to state in 2013, the Faculty of Engineering, at Samudra University, has grown to eight study programs. There are five additional study programs namely Informatics, Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics Study Programs. The Faculty of Engineering, Samudra University is developing itself towards Coastal Technology, the development of corrosion-resistant composite materials, energy generation, renewable energy, buildings and coastal area construction, green building, and the development of marine product production. Furthermore, the focus of study at the Faculty of Engineering is computer networks, software engineering, multimedia, intelligent systems, statistics and modeling, nanoparticles, instrument physics, earth physics, botany, zoology, microbiology and ecology, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry with biochemistry.
