Message from Rector
Assalamualaikum warrahmatulahi wabarakatuh and warm greetings to the entire academic community, students, prospective students, and esteemed visitors who have chosen to visit the official website of Samudra University. As the Rector of Samudra University, I, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hamdani, M.T., IPM, am honoured to extend a warm welcome to this dynamic and rapidly advancing institution.
Situated on the eastern coast of Aceh, Samudra University plays a pivotal role in the development of human resources in one of Indonesia’s outermost regions. Our vision—to become an autonomous and distinguished university—drives us to contribute meaningfully to the progress of Indonesia at large.
In pursuit of this vision, Samudra University continually strives to enhance its academic systems, ensuring that education is underpinned by research that is competitive on a global scale. Our research initiatives are translated into community service programs that actively support national development priorities.
The realization of this vision is supported by strong academic resources. The university’s five faculties, encompassing 27 study programs, provide students with the opportunity to develop into a generation equipped to compete on both national and international stages. Our faculties—Economics and Business, Law, Teacher Training and Education, Agriculture, and Science and Technology—are staffed by experienced academics dedicated to student development. Additionally, our state-of-the-art laboratories and modern learning facilities, including experimental fields and technology-enhanced classrooms, are key components in delivering advanced learning experiences to our students.
Samudra University has leveraged these strengths to align with Indonesia’s national education strategy. Each year, our students actively participate in the “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) initiative, broadening their academic experience through collaboration with leading universities across Indonesia. Furthermore, we have seen a marked increase in student involvement in internships within industries, village development programs, school teaching initiatives, student exchanges, research at academic institutions, entrepreneurship development, independent projects, and humanitarian efforts.
These endeavors have resulted in several of our study programs achieving the highest level of accreditation. We remain committed to further improving our academic quality through collaborative efforts and by expanding our program offerings to better meet societal needs.
