The University
Universitas Samudra, officially established as a state university in 2013, is located in eastern Aceh, Indonesia. Its origins, however, date back to 1970, when the Samudra Education Foundation founded the College of Law and Social Sciences and the College of Economics in Langsa. These institutions later merged to form Samudra University Langsa in 1985. Today, Samudra University is a growing higher education institution, comprising five faculties and offering a wide range of academic programs across 27 study disciplines.
Building on its strong foundation in education and research, Samudra University is committed to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration that spans various academic fields. With a focus on the Tridharma of higher education—education, research, and community service—the university is dedicated to addressing the evolving needs of society. By driving innovative research and providing high-quality education, Samudra University strives to contribute to the development of human resources and the advancement of knowledge at both the national and global levels.
